Luc Peire

Born in Bruges in 1916 and died in Paris in 1994. He studied at the Fine Arts Academy in Bruges, St-Luc in Ghent and the Fine Arts Acadmy in Antwerp. He was a co-founder of the « Mesure » group and part of the « Jeune Peinture Belge », but quickly distanced himself from these and moved towards geometric art, becoming a master of abstract verticalism.
