Biography: 

Belgian artist, born in Saint-Josse-ten-Noode in 1909, died in 1986. He trained at the Academy of Saint-Josse, where he also studied sculpture and architecture. He was co-founder of the « La Route Libre » and « La Jeune Peinture Belge » movements. His work « l'écorché », part of the collection, marked the turning point in his career as an artist. His painting tended towards abstract expressionism and he participated in some of the CoBrA movement events. After a brief geometric period, he developed towards lyrical abstraction denoting an acute sense of colour.
