Englebert Van Anderlecht

Belgian artist born in 1918, died in 1961. He trained at the Académie de Saint-Josse-ten-Node in Brussels where he met a number of artists, including Lismonde et Van Lint. He was one of the main representatives of abstract art in Belgium after World War II. His work is characterized by the instantaneous gesture and falls within lyrical abstraction.
